Totall bliss in the emotinaly recovedred spin machine!

So, after a horific day of disbelief and stress dealing with all my previous plans going in mist... I couldn't really even eat. Emotions were swaying from anger to self-pity to grievance - but generally just shock and disbelief...

What was I going to do? Phone calls came pouring in and many friends offered me places to stay as long as I needed while working/saving - or even cash upfront. So considerate of everyone!

Was I still going to NZ for the weekend? After all, if I didn;'t have my laptop, I still couldn't play live, and that meant my plan of meeting people via the festival network would be stumpted.

Honestly I was considering either going into the bush to work as a waiter [cash in hand] while staying in Dean's guest bed [he's so genrous to offer work and lodging] - or back to Sydney to squat with Ihor while saving up 2-3,000€ so I could continue my trip - but then I was going to miss all the festivals and the summer in NZ - it just didn't sit right...

And all my lost art and phone numbers, this was really just as devastating as loosing the laptop; i could only hope that the person who took the bag didn't just toss the art-journal in the bin; as it would be a shame if it just got lost in a trash heap.

I got new passport photos, registered the loss with the police, bought a new phone charger, checked with the embassies, called the airline to postpone my flight and before you know it, it was 5pm... so I went home, and just crashed into a needed nap to try and pass this nightmare over.

You know how sometimes you think "maybe if I can go to sleep, when I wake up this will just be a dream?"

Well, in the middle of my nap the phone rang...

"Hello this is officer 'such and so', is this Sebastian Chedal?"
"erm... yes"
"We found a bag with your belongings... etc etc"
!!!!!!!

Insert Sebastian in shock [again] and jumping over the ceiling in multiple dimensions!!!

Everything was in there... passports, laptop, art-book, plane tickets... nothing missing at all!!!
Unfreaking beleivable!!!

Emotional rollercoaster drama superstar shock to the nervous system cold water splash

What a day!!!!

Anyways, now that my life is suddenly back on track, I can talk a bit about how my week has been.
:P

Ihor was working lots, but it was great swiming in his Hyatt hotel pool, spa and sauna while he was away. From thursday onwards I was in a heavy "go out and party hard" mood... and I spent a fair bit of money I don't have drinking the nights away. Thursday in particular though, I was having fun, but I was also feeling quite lonely again - somehow the huge hangover I had masked it a bit; and I contimplated things like in Australia my head spins from 'right to left' when drunk... I wonder if this is the opposit in the northern hemisphere???

Friday night was drum and bass [Goldie on decks] with Ihor, in a cool spot near the waterfront. Most drum-and-bassers are friendly maintstream-ish types; mainstream crowd still dominates most venues and areas of life in Australia [just more undercurrents here in Melbourne].

Saturday was a barbeque at Fuzz's house [my good friend I met in Cape trib months ago] - ironically the person who brought the most people to his barbee was me! Sara and Carlos [friends from Holland who just moved here], Ihor and Chelsea [a sparkling girl with exotic eyes whome I became friends with from earthcore] - it was really nice and fun having a little party flow.
:-)

Sunday was "loose the bag" day; after I got thuroughly plastered [again] by what turned out to be a sequence of events that draged Ihor and I into the night... we met two beautiful girls at lunch whome I knew vaguely from where I use the internet [where I am now]; we joined them for drinks at a bar and then I went up to meet Kate [the girl I met at earthcore]... Kate and I had a really nice time together, and I don't know how it is possible, but I managed to down 2 shots and 3 vodka-cranberry drinks in about an hours time with no hangover or spinning head [I think going out 4 days in a row helps though]. Cool drum and bass band was playing with guitars and singing [everything was played, so electronic drum kit, keyboardist etc.]

As the night went on Kate's friend: Jeane, got really tired and waisted so we took her home in a taxi [which is when i guess i lost track of my bag] -- Sara and Carlos were really pissed at me that I brought Kate home - which made me feel bad since I wouldn't have done so if I had known it was a no-go; after all, they are being very generous letting me stay in there place, and the last thing I want to do is disrespect them; its tough when you have not that much to give in return for the generosity of others... hmmm,

Anyways, we woke up in the morning, 1 hour before plane... oh shit where's my bag! [you know the rest]

Seb thanks his angels,

x
